Overview
Understanding the plug valve
A plug valve uses a tapered or cylindrical plug with a port that rotates 90° to open or close. The design is simple, compact and suits services where a quick-acting, tight shut-off is needed.
Non-lubricated sleeved plug valves use a PTFE sleeve; lubricated plug valves inject sealant to seal and ease operation; eccentric plug valves reduce seat wear.
