Understanding the actuated valve
An actuated valve combines a valve body with an actuator that opens and closes it on a signal, which allows remote, automated or safety-related operation.
Pneumatic actuators are fast and simple and suit most process plants; electric actuators are used where compressed air is not available or precise positioning is needed.
